FoGA Work on Green Spaces Action Plan 2020-2025

Any time of year:
• Removal of redundant tree guards – various locations
• Check tree ties are supportive but loose. Remove any where tree is now solid in the ground.
• Wiping down of interpretation panels.

Growing season
• Weed/clear around bottom of newly planted trees.
• Trim back entrances to woodlands, vegetation around benches and signs etc, and keep paths clear.

Winter season
• Habitat work as outlined in the Greenspace Action Plan.

FoGA Volunteers:

  • Would like to learn coppicing – could we agree a date?
  • Can contribute to basic wildlife monitoring?

The RSPB advise that nesting season is March to August so we don’t do any large scale clearance at this time of year, only minor trimming back in key areas to keep access and furniture clear.

PROJECTS PENDING:

Project 1 – Claypitsprings, Brooches and Hangbois Wood, remove debris
Project 2 – Clear the last of the litter & debris from the woods – clearing the path around the outside boundary of the North-East wood

Project 1 – Clear debris from Claypithills Spring & Brooches Wood. This will be moved for collection to the agreed district Park point
