The litter picks are also combined with simple and routine path and rights of way maintenance, in agreement with the land owner. We keep alert for fly-tipping and report using the system below. The local councils are always very responsible.
Most litter picks happen as FoGA volunteers walk Great Ashby acting as private and concerned citizens who take responsibility for themselves, but FoGA may specifically arrange and/or join community litter picks through any of the local councils or other community interest groups.
FoGA were delighted to provide 5 sets of pickers and hoops to the Stevenage Wombles, who have worked from St Nicholas into Great Ashby. A big thank you to the Wombles!
FOGA Group Activities were held pending due to Covid Restrictions. However, we may now start again.
The FoGA Litter Picking Policy, Procedure & Risk Assessment is adopted from NHDC
Larger works are referred to Country Management Services team, whom Friends of Great Ashby will take direction from in support of their efforts.
